Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a private mailbox vs. a P.O. box?A P.O. Box is a post office box that is generally not considered as a physical address. Because there is no actual "receiver", courier companies do not deliver to P.O. Boxes. A private mailbox with us provides you with a real street address which not only allows you to receive parcels by courier, but also provides a more professional image for your business. How do I sign up for a mailbox? You can drop by the store and fill out a mailbox rental agreement form. Along with the agreement, we file a copy of photo ID's for each authorized mailbox user. A security deposit of $100 is required OR we can file a credit card (copy of front and back) in lieu of the security deposit. Additional deposits are applicable as well for mailbox keys ($15 each). Any deposit paid is refundable upon closing of the box and/or return of any key(s) provided that the mailbox is not in arrears. What will my address look like?Your Personal/Business Name
3230 Yonge Street, Suite #### (or ####-3230 Yonge Street)
Toronto, ON  M4N 3P6
How do I receive parcels? We receive parcels/registered mail on your behalf on a pay-per-use basis. We put a yellow pickup slip in your mailbox to let you know that you have an item to be picked up. Simply bring us your slip, pay the amount due and sign for the package pickup. Parcels with a C.O.D. amount, where the courier requires payment upon delivery, must be confirmed prior to acceptance. If we are unable to reach you by phone to approve the acceptance, the courier will be asked to retry the next day. Payment must be made directly to the courier company with either a credit card number or a cheque provided to us prior to receiving the package. What happens if I have more mail than can fit inside my mailbox?Excess mail is stored in an “overflow” box which we keep securely in the mail room. We leave a yellow pickup slip in your mailbox to let you know that you have overflow mail. A $5 storage fee is applicable for each overflow box. What happens if there is a C.O.D. charge on a parcel that comes in for me?Parcels with a C.O.D. amount, where the courier requires payment upon delivery, must be confirmed prior to acceptance. The standard procedure is to call you to approve the acceptance and pay the charge directly to the courier. If we are unable to reach you by phone to approve the acceptance, the courier will be asked to retry the next day. Payment must be made directly to the courier with either a credit card number over the phone or a cheque provided to us prior to receiving the package. If you expect to receive C.O.D. parcels on a regular basis, a more practical option is to leave us a credit card number on file to automatically accept any C.O.D. charges at a limited dollar amount per transaction (ie., max $30, etc.). There is a $3 processing charge for C.O.D. acceptance (+regular parcel charges). How does mail forwarding work?We forward your mail upon request or on regular schedule (ie., first Monday each month, etc.) There is a $5 processing fee plus the delivery charge which can vary depending how/where we are sending it (ie., via regular mail, local courier, international courier, etc.) charged on a credit card or on account. Deposit for domestic mail forwarding: $50, deposit for international mail forwarding: $75.Can other people receive mail at my address? You may register up to 2 family names and/or 2 business names to your mailbox. We file a photocopy of photo ID's for each authorized mailbox user. Can other people pick up my mail?Anyone can pick up your mail if you provide them with a mailbox key. Only registered users may pick up your mail without a key provided they show us photo ID.Can someone drop off an envelope or package for my mailbox? We process parcel drop-offs the same way as parcels from couriers (with applicable parcel charges). The package must be in an envelope/box and must be marked to clearly with the mailbox number. We ask whoever is dropping off the parcel to sign for it upon drop off. This process enables us to keep proper documentation regarding parcels coming in or out.Can I leave something at the store for someone to pick up?We may store parcels for pick-ups with applicable regular parcel charges. The package must be in an envelope/box and must be marked to clearly with the name of the courier/personnel who is expected to pick up the package. We ask whoever is picking up the parcel to sign off for it. This process enables us to keep proper documentation of incoming and outgoing parcels.
